All -

With my documented coronary artery disease (CAD), which included 4 stents in 2 blocked arteries (4 years ago). I have started a lifestyle change.

Well it has been 2 weeks since I have given up all meat, fish, poultry and eggs. And I am feeling great, I do not feel bloated. There are some times I smell meat and really want to go back, but I am on a journey (hopefully a long one).

I also have incorporated juicing for my morning meal, usually a combination of Spinach, Apple, banana and some flax seed. I will add more juicing throughout my day as a snack. We use the Nutribullet, it is more of a emulsifier than a juicer.

Now starting Monday I will be giving up all Dairy (I will miss cheese) and my Diet Cokes. The in a few more weeks adding Whole Grain and get away from the bad snacks (chips, candy, etc..).

There have been a few documentaries I have watched recently that have sent me in this direction. I am not telling people what they should do or eat, I am just sharing what led to my decision, if you are interested here are the documentaries.

Don't Blame God

I write this with a heavy heart.  So often I hear how those who are not walking with the Lord, blame God for the lives we as followers of God live.  The term hypocrite and "if you were really a Christian you wouldn't worry"..etc...

Well the more I learn about God thru His word, the more I realize how much more I need to know Him and how I am to live my Christian life.  You see it is an on going process.  Even the Apostle Paul wrote, "

"Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.  Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,  I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

So when you see me fail, which you will.  When you see me falter, and you will.  When you see me sin, and you will.  Don't blame God, the problem is me and how I let God and the Holy Spirit work in and thru me.  You cannot argue the change that has taken place in my life, you cannot argue that I truly believe in God.

So do not blame God, look into His word to see what I see.  I truly need Him as my Lord and Savior as do you.

Matt 7:3-5

"And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?  Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye?  Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."

I have been seeing and hearing a lot of Christians who have a habit of pointing out small things in other peoples life.  Which reminds me of a quote "When you point at someone, you have 3 fingers pointing back at you".

Is it because when we do that it makes us look and feel better about ourselves?  Or are we truly concerned over these issues?

Augustine said this:
  • IN ESSENTIALS UNITY
  • IN NON-ESSENTIALS LIBERTY
  • IN ALL THINGS CHARITY
Check your motives, if you are trying to make yourself look and feel better then your motives are wrong.

I will leave it here for now.

Now pardon me as I remove the planks from my own eyes.
